The current model for health and fitness conferences is broken
September 28th - 29th, 2019 In Edmonton, AB Canada
THE FIRST SUMMIT TO VALUE
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
The current model for health and fitness conferences is broken.

Over the years I've attended more conferences than I can count. Hungry for knowledge I would seek out the top fitness conferences and spend thousands of dollars every year attending various conferences.

You know as well as I, in order to stay on top we need to continue to push our knowledge forward.

I would attend big name events with stacked speaker line-ups. Events often having upwards of 18-20 speakers lined up back-to-back over the course of a weekend.

I would sit feverishly taking notes during their 30-45 minute lecture. One after another, after another. By the end of the weekend I would be so overwhelmed after listening to so many different presentations. I would have pages upon pages of notes from the weekend.

It wasn't until I realized that I need to go DEEPER into these topics... But there was no way a speaker could do so in a 30-45 minute presentation. They just begin to skim the surface on a recent study and transition into a short Q&A period before the next person takes the stage.

Conference after conference I realized... I didn't need to see 20 people speak for 45 minutes.

It was not giving me the in-depth knowledge I desired.

I needed an immersive experience, I needed them to dive deep down the rabbit hole... So I could really get the answers I have been looking for.

But there wasn't anything like this. That is why we created The L2 Fitness Summit. A two-day experience. A deep dive into the minds of the thought leaders of the fitness industry. Giving them the platform to dive deep into the topics you desire the most leaving you with the answers you've been looking for.

JOHN MEADOWS
How to Train and Recover Like a Mutant
Health and Fitness became a passion of mine at a very young age. I remember very vividly traveling to the local sundry store with my grandmother, and sitting on the floor in the magazine section, reading the “Anatomy and Physiology” section in Muscle and Fitness. I don’t think too many other 12 year olds were interested in this kind of thing, but I thought it was really cool. My grandmother was a very well known cook in our local restaurant, where much of the town ate, so she would always run into people and chat with them, which allowed me ample time to memorize all the muscle names, exercise routines, etc.

When I was 13 years old I entered my first bodybuilding competition. The bodybuilding efforts I was putting in did carry over to the other sports as I wasn’t the biggest and strongest guy without weight training. The increased strength, flexibility and endurance I had paid dividends. This was one facet I really enjoyed about bodybuilding, the amount of work I put into it, was what I got out of it, hard work equals success.

I continued to compete over the years, and have won something like 18 contests along the way including many state, and regional titles, and even a national title. I also have worked with a number of athletes from differing backgrounds and continue to do so. I still train extremely hard, and try to practice what I preach.

ALBERTO NUNEZ
TBD
Alberto first stepped on a competitive stage in 2007, and then the very next year he earned his pro status in virtually every major natural organization. While Alberto Nunez is relatively new to the sport of competitive bodybuilding he has played a vital role in promoting the natural movement. His contributions as a coach, athlete, and author have helped propel some of the growth the sport has seen over the last decade.

Despite all this success, Nuñez claims his most successful accolade comes in the fact that he gets to be called Coach Nuñez. “My biggest thrill is that I was lucky enough to be one of the founders of Team 3DMJ. I can honestly say we as a team have changed this sport we love for the better. Everyday I am thankful that I get to be part of this movement, alongside Coach Helms, Loomis, Alberts and Valdez.”
LAURIN CONLIN
Dieting, Mindset and Effectively Coaching Your Clients
Laurin’s interest of nutrition started from a very disordered place; as she was anorexic for many years growing up. Her interest then shifted to nutrition and performance as a track and field athlete in high school, to then an amateur bodybuilder. She competed for several years as an NPC Figure competitor before making the switch to the Bikini division. In 2014, she won the overall at NPC Nationals in Bikini, earning her professional status. Laurin has competed for several years as an IFBB Bikini pro since.

She attended the Florida State University for her undergraduate degree, pursuing a Bachelors in Exercise Science. She then went on to complete her Masters in Exercise Science from University of South Florida in Dr. Bill Campbell’s lab. Laurin’s Masters research focused on how different dieting strategies effect weight loss and weight regain. Particularly, looking at a ‘flexible’ diet where no foods are excluded versus a meal plan, where foods were excluded. Her research was the first study to directly examine this relationship between these two diets.
INTRODUCING
THE L2 FITNESS SUMMIT
The L2 Fitness Summit is a two-day fitness and nutrition summit that brings the best and the brightest together in Western Canada. Providing four half-day intensive sessions for an immersive experience unlike any other event.
It all began in 2016.

Every year it was my goal to attend at least 1-2 conferences. Learning from the best and brightest in the industry was extremely important to me and is required by all of us to stay on top of our game.

But growing up in Canada, every conference required us to travel. Costing my wife and I thousands and thousands of dollars every year. Causing us to have to choose between continuing education or vacation on multiple occasions.

Most conferences are in the US or International... Maybe it's the cold, maybe it's the accent, maybe it's cause we're too nice. But these events just did not seem to happen in Canada. As a result anyone located in Canada is required to spend a lot of money to travel to further our education.

My wife and I realized this gap and set out to make a change.

In 2016 we decided... If no one else is going to, we will bring the best and the brightest up to Canada. We'll even supply the toques and the Tim Horton's coffee. This was the birth of our first L2 Fitness Summit in 2017. We are now entering our 3rd year and it is only getting better and better every single year.

I loved that each presenter had plenty of time to not only give their talk, but to interact and answer questions as well. If you're looking to improve your knowledge and become a better coach in the nutrition and fitness industry I'd highly recommend attending."
